To bring new listeners up to speed, Jason is one of the original hosts of ITRH. He and Aaron spent years playing around with rabbit and chicken production on the ITRH Urban farm. After the closure of the urban farm, Jason began a passion project with two objects:
1) Start a small-scale beef production operation (aka micro-ranching)
2) Parlay the success of the beef production into a business and use the proceeds to pay for a bug out location
So what's the result of Jason's venture after a few years? Find out in this episode.
We quickly discuss bugging out, bugging in, hunkering down, and making sure you didn't forget your wooby.

Weird summer short for you today. I say weird because almost no-one really talks about this. But it is a major weak point in our society today. Weak because of fragility.
I have to warn you. This might be a little boring at first. We’re going to talk about an inventory strategy. Or this will be exciting if operations and efficiency blows your skirt up.
This inventory strategy has produced a large benefit for developed nations. It lowers costs of the things you buy every day. And its meant shelves in stores are rarely empty.
The strategy is called Just-in-time inventory.

But there are a collection of survival books I love. And I'll share each of them with you here.
Note: If you’re new to ITRH, this is a summer short episode. As the name suggests, summer shorts are short episodes intended to tide you over till the full seasons starts back up in the fall. They come out about every two weeks.

An EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse) attack is one of the top three most feared catastrophes by preppers. It is reported that there will be a 90% population die off in the first year after one occurs. And that's just the start.
But do we know the truth about EMPs?

Arthur Bradley Ph.D., a NASA Scientist, Electrical Engineer, and Certified EMI expert drops by to tell us the truth and destroy the myths.
An episode dedicated to discussing an EMP is one of the most requested topics In The Rabbit Hole gets. But we held off on doing it all these years. The reason was this: We wanted someone who had the credentials and background to speak on the topic expertly. That required a very special person who understood the physics, math, preppers, and prepper fiction.
Note: This episode is technical. We do our best to make the EMP topic approachable for everyone. But somethings just are what they are. With that...
Let’s. Discuss. EMPs!

Everything in life is a journey, as the cliche. And along the journey, you make mistakes and course corrections. As you progress your view of the journey changes. Maybe you develop new strategies to replace old strategies. Perhaps you find you understand something completely different from experiences.
These are the things that shape us. And by sharing them we help others progress faster, lose less time, stumble more infrequently, and stay in with more conviction.
As a side note: The title of this series is 5 lessons from 15-Years. I can’t say when I really got serious about prep. The show started in 2010, but I think this all started in 2003. By started I mean where this started to be something I thought about and engaged in daily.
Note: Comment on this episode and share lessons you've learned along the way. These lessons should be the things you would tell you're younger self or someone just starting out.
