After a special Memorial day message hosts Aaron and Jonathan are joined by Scout of Project Appleseed. Scout gives listeners the ins and outs of what we consider the best traditional marksmanship instruction in the country.

Whether you are a new shooter, a seasoned hunter, or tactically trained, Appleseed will teach you something and improve your rifle skills. However, Project Appleseeds rifle marksmanship instruction is only a piece of the lessons learned. Attendees also learn about early American History, what a true rifleman (or woman) is, and meet some amazing quality people along the way.

Project Appleseed attendees come from all walks of life and political backgrounds. It's a place for learning and community building.

We'd like everyone to put down your hot dogs and beer for a minute. We'd like you to take a moment and think about the men and women of the armed forces that have paid the ultimate price for their patriotism.

To all the Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, and Airmen now laid to rest, we thank you. Your sacrifice means we all sleep a little safer tonight and every night.

To everyone currently serving, we'd of course like to thank you too. Please know that you are appreciated, keep your minds at the ready, come home safe, sound, and upright. G-d speed...

Today's show is a rebroadcast of Episode 38. We couldn't think of a better way for us to honor the fallen. It's not only about learning to properly use one of the tools that won us our liberty. It's also a way for us to remember the first men and women that paid for our freedom with their lives.

Apr 17, 2015

Hosts Aaron and Jonathan discuss picking survival gear.

Buying survival gear is wrought with confusion. New preppers often ask, "What do I need? And where do I start?" Typically, people new to survival spend countless hours digging through gear lists in books and on the internet. Or they purchase endless amounts of stuff promising to solve all of their problems or to be the perfect solution.

But they often have a hazy understanding, if at all, about what they actually need and why they need it. So they end up spending lots of money on stuff they don't need. Or worse yet, they put false confidence in a piece of junk.

Instead of turning to a general survival gear checklist, what if we first understood our needs? Then, what if we let our survival needs dictate the gear list? Often the best way to solve a problem is through learning the right questions to ask...

~ So let's ask them together.
Topics:

* Understanding the survival gear spiral.
* The hierarchy of survival needs.
* Basing decisions on the hierarchy of needs.
* The three most likely places you'll be when disaster strikes.
* Choosing gear for the home.
* Choosing gear for the office.
* Choosing gear for the car.

Hosts Aaron and Jonathan discuss their views on being physically fit, tips, and more...

Fitness--whether surviving a bad situation or simply improving your life--is an often overlooked aspect of many preppers' plans. But is there a point to all our preparations if we ignore the heart attack looming around the corner? When disaster strikes will you be in the physical condition necessary to deal with the issue? You may be willing to die for your children, but are you willing to live for your children?
